ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Beatriz Schlebecker

Schlebecker is a long time resident and local artist in Irvington.
She finds her inspirations in her Mexican American background
and her life long experiences. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in
Fine Arts in 2006 at Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis.
While focusing on the field of Children’s Book Illustrations, she
encountered the beauty of collage. Through her collage work the beauty
of Papel Picado began to blossom and take form.

For more information on Beatriz Schlebecker, and to view some of
her work on display here at Lazy Daze Coffee House,

Monday Night Comedy
Hosted by Matt Clemens
Every Monday Night 7:00 p.m. to 9:ish
The comedians are amateur, but these are
the same guys and gals who perform at Crackers and other comedy venues.
Just remember it is comedy, and even though the performers tone it down a bit
because they are performing at a coffee house,
it still may not be a good idea to bring the little ones.

Recommended for 18 years and older.

"In the company of Shakespeare"
Open Mic Poetry
Every Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Hosted by Charles Munsey, III
Every Thursday evening from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m., we host an open mic
for all of those poets who wish to share their rhythms and rhymes.
Everyone is welcome.
It must be noted that some material may not be suited for the little ones.
All art and poetry is done in taste and Mr. Munsey does does an excellent job
in bringing the best talent to stage here at Lazy Daze; but, the expressions
of some poets who wish to convey a certain point of view in their
literature may at times be inappropriate for children. So be cautious
when allowing the small ones to tag along.

Lazy Daze Racing Update

April 24, 2009

Here it is 2009, and already Jon Farina and Josh McQueary, who both drive the Lazy Daze sponsored Faskarts one and two, have won 1st and 2nd place in the Heat Winners featuring the Faskarts at the Indianapolis Speedrome.

The Indy Faskart winged warriors began its 2009 championship quest with a pair of heat races.  The first saw veteran Jon Farina (Lazy Daze 1) besting Ryan Friederick at the finish while the second stanza had the well-prepared Josh McQueary (Lazy Daze 2) winning ahead of series co-founder Tom Toole.  The main saw Farina pacing the way looking for the elusive first career win.  He charged through the laps before seeing McQueary slip past to claim the prize.  Farina held on for a second with Friederick picking up third place honors.
